DESCRIPTION: \n\n8/20/2025\nSanford property owners recently received a notice in the mail about a proposed fire protection fee. The fee would help fund the City’s fire protection services.\nThe City is legally required to send these notices to all affected property owners. This fee is not final and will only apply if the City Commission votes to approve it at the Commission Meeting on September 8, 2025, at 7:00 PM in the City Commission Chambers, 300 N Park Ave, Sanford. All residents and property owners may speak at the September 8 Commission meeting or send written comments within 19 days of receiving their notice to fireassessment@sanfordfl.gov\nEach property will have a different fee based on its value and type. The exact amount for your property is shown in the legal notice directly under the chart in the letter you receive. If this fee is approved by the City Commission at the September 8 City Commission meeting your first year’s amount will be mailed directly to property owners after October 1, 2025.\nBeginning November 2026, the fee will be included in your annual property tax bill.\nThank you,\n08/05/2025\nOn August 5, 2025, the City of Sanford held a Fire Assessment Presentation and Community Meeting at the Sanford City Hall Commission Chambers.
