New Purple Martin Bases

As part of its ongoing commitment to wildlife stewardship, the City of Sanford Parks and Grounds team has installed two additional bases for new purple martin gourd homes. This effort comes just in time for the birds’ annual migration back from Brazil.

The new bases reflect Sanford’s proactive approach to preparing for the birds’ arrival and supporting their continued return year after year. Residents are encouraged to keep an eye out for the purple martins as they begin to arrive and settle into their new homes in the coming weeks.
